Chanelle Pharma was named Ireland’s Multinational Exporter of the Year at the 2019 Export Industry Awards. The awards which were recently held in the Convention Centre in Dublin, is Ireland’s pinnacle event for recognising the remarkable achievements of companies working in the export industry in Ireland.
Chanelle Pharma took the accolade for Multinational Exporter of the Year against stiff competition from Abbott Ireland and Irish Distillers.
Speaking at the Awards Ceremony, Michael Burke, founder and managing director, Chanelle Pharma said; “It is an incredible honour for an Irish company to be recognised as a multinational. 2019 has been a pivotal year for Chanelle. We received FDA approval on one of our manufacturing facilities and we plan to launch our first FDA approved product into the US next year. It will be a game changer for the company as the US is the most lucrative pharmaceutical market in the world.”
Chanelle Pharma began construction of a €10 million manufacturing facility in 2016 and received approval from the Health Products Regulatory Authority Ireland in 2018 and from the US FDA in September 2019. The new facility is part of the company’s plan to invest €85 million over a period of five years in research and development, capital projects and employees.

Chanelle Pharma is Ireland’s largest indigenous Pharmaceutical manufacturer and is headquartered in Loughrea, Co Galway. The company employs 550 people in Ireland, UK, Jordan and India and invests €9 million in research and development. Chanelle Pharma export human and veterinary products to over 90 countries worldwide. In 2018 the company announced a massive 85 million investment doubling capacity and production and will launch 96 new products over the next five years.
